Happy 2020 HBHers! Just a reminder that rehearsals will resume this Thursday, January 9 at 7pm at Mr Akemoto’s orchestra room. Also, please bring back your Christmas music including your green books! Thank you so much for helping serve the community. Apologizing again for the zoo concert we worked so hard for. The stupid weather screwed everything up. That’s okay. More concerts in planning. Anyway, see you tomorrow if you can make it. Our rehearsals are every Thursday so if you need to skip a few it’s okay. 😉

THE HONOLULU ZOO CONCERT IS CANCELLED TODAY! Due to the weather conditions, the zoo will be closed today. They will be rescheduling today’s event to next weekend. Also, we made a tentative plan for a HBH potluck get together thingy for tonight as well. POTLUCK IS ALSO CANCELLED. Please stay safe and dry today. Your safety is more important to me than braving the weather. There was already a huge branch that fell from a tree on my street last night. Don’t want things like that to happen to you on the road. Just a head’s up abt our Honolulu Zoo concert on Saturday. Due to the extreme high winds being forecasted, it is possible the Honolulu Zoo event will be cancelled. I will keep you posted as I get information. If you find out any information regarding a zoo closure tmrw, please respond to this mesg thread. For now we will carry on as if the concert is still on. When: 12/21/19 Call time: 12:00pm Downbeat: 12:30pm or around there anyway Attire: Aloha / Christmas Please bring your music and stands and clothespins or something to help hold down your music from the wind. Getting into the zoo requires a check-in at the front entrance. They have your names there so if you didn’t give me your name and are playing, I need to get it from you NOW. That is all. I think. And a heads up, if you’re available on Sunday, August 18, we’ll be having a housewarming party (or whatever you wanna call it) at Daniel’s “new” house. More info to come. Hello HBHers, I am cancelling rehearsal tonight (7/18/19). Is that today’s date? I didn’t check. I’m guessing. I have a gig with the Oahu College Band tonight during the same time as HBH rehearsal. Since Thursday rehearsals are bad for the most of you anyway, it’s better I cancel since half of our members will be at this gig. Yeah. That’s how many HBH members can’t do Thursdays. We’re now averaging 4 ppl per rehearsal. Anyway, have a good Thursday. Rest up and eat some good food or throw a party or eat a ginormous bowl of ramen tonight. Good afternoon HBHers, There is no rehearsal tonight (June 27). The orchestra room is off limits tonight due to waxing of the floors. Next week is July 4 so we won’t have rehearsal next week either. Also if you don’t plan on playing with us during the summer, please return your music folders. Most of what we have in our folders are our originals. We kind of don’t really have a copy machine... Thanks and see you when we resume rehearsals on July 11.

Good afternoon HBHers, We have decided that the best day for HBH rehearsals will be on Thursday nights. Location and time are still the same: Kalani HS orchestra room at 7:30pm to 9:00pm. There will be a hula halau using the room occasionally prior to our rehearsals but they should be out of the room by 7:00pm. Thank you for your patience. We will start our Thursday rehearsals on June 13, 2019. There is no rehearsal tonight or this coming Thursday. If you did not receive prior emails, Sundays are now out and this Thursday the room will be occupied by another group. Sorry again for all the confusion. I’m always confused. LOL. Good afternoon HBHers, Just another update on our rehearsal changes. Originally we were discussing a possible switch to Wednesday nights. However after a short meeting today, we found it does not work as well as we thought it would. We are now looking at Thursday nights instead at our usual rehearsal time (7:30pm to 9:00pm). This again is not official. We do however need to switch rehearsal days starting in June. I will send out a final email regarding our chosen rehearsal day. We just have to make sure the orchestra room is available. Please let me know if you have any questions. I know a lot of things have been up in the air recently.
