HBH - Upcoming Performance and Rehearsal Stuff

Good morning HBHers!

Insert some kinda paragraph here. My brain is currently offline and I always feel the need to put something here, so here it is. Moving onward...

We have been requested to play some holiday music for residents at Lunalilo Home on Wednesday, December 17 at 6pm. Pls mark your calendars if you think you can make it. If you can't make any of the rehearsals and wanna join us there to perform, that is okay too.

There will be NO REHEARSAL on NOVEMBER 26. Happy Thanksgiving. Next rehearsal will be on December 3 at our usual time and place.

HBH Thank Yous

Hello...

Just a few thank yous...

Thank you HBH for your community service today at HKRC. 

I know sometimes we seem a little disorganized. Partly because we each make our contributions to this grp in our own way and partly because as members, we are in control together of how we want to move this organization forward. 

The residents thoroughly enjoyed listening to us today and I heard a lot of positive comments. However, it was suggested by several ppl that it would've been nice to include God Bless America in our music selection. We'll keep this in mind for next time.

Thank you Hawaii Kai Retirement Community for having us! We always look forward to and enjoy sharing music with your residents. We hope we helped contribute a small something to your Veterans Day festivities. We appreciate you and all of your veterans who served in the US Armed Forces. 

Thank you Ben for doing the super awesome emcee work that everyone is always thrilled to volunteer for. You always do a great job and I think you're hired for all future announcement jobs. Hahaha.

Thank you to Wayne for always letting us rehearse each week at NVMS. Thank you for always letting us take up your work time to make noise. Thank you for letting us use your truck for moving perc stuff and thank you for letting us use perc stuff. 

Thank you Daniel for always guiding us. Without you, HBH wouldn't be possible. 

If I forgot anyone, pls forgive me. I can barely remember which day of the week it is.

HBH - HKRC Concert Info

Just a reminder for Tuesday's concert...

We will be playing at Hawaii Kai Retirement Community, Phase I on Veteran's Day 11/11/14. Start time is 10:30am.

If you can help, we're meeting at 9:15am at the band room for equipment loading. Call time at HKRC is 9:45am. Pls bring your own music stand. We'll have a few extra stands if you don't have one. Aloha attire or patriotic if you wish.

HBH - Rehearsal Reminder

Hi all,

Just a reminder. This week's rehearsal is on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30. The band room will be in use on Wednesday night during our regular rehearsal time for a school related event.

HBH - 10/30, HKRC and stuff...

Next week we'll be meeting on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30 for rehearsal instead of our usual Wednesday because the bandroom will be used Wednesday night for a school related event. Pls show up on Thursday. Not Wednesday.

Our upcoming performance at Hawaii Kai Retirement Community is coming up. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, Veteran's Day, 10:30am at Phase I. They always enjoy having us play. Pls remember to have fun too. Residents really feed off of our energy there and we always hear good comments abt these kinda things. I'll tell you guys abt our last concert there at our next rehearsal if I remember. Aloha attire or patriotic if you want. Pls bring your own music stand if possible.  

And pls refresh yourself with our bylaws.

Just a reminder, we have a performance coming up... HKRC (Phase I) on Veteran's Day at 10:30am... I know we've been a little short on membership recently due to school and work and family and other things, but it would be good to know who can actually make it. If possible, please reply to my email or let us know at our next rehearsal. If I remember, I'll send around an availability sheet. If I remember... My memory sucks. LOL.

On another note... Our October 29 (Wednesday) rehearsal will be moved to October 30 (Thursday)... The bandroom will be unavailable to us due to a school related event. So don't come on October 29.

And again, if you'd like to get off the HBH email list, please let me know. I won't be offended and you'd be spared frm my often uninformative and nonsensical emails that take up space in your inboxes. Or... If you'd like to add someone to the list, I could do that too.

HBH Rehearsal Reminder...

Just a reminder for HBHers:

Due to school related things, the bandroom will be occupied for the next few Wednesdays... Therefore we have TEMPORARILY moved rehearsals to Thursdays at 7:30pm for 7/31, 8/7 and 8/14. We will resume our usual Wednesday schedule starting 8/20.

Some scheduling conflicts have unexpectedly popped up so we're changing the dates of our next few rehearsals for the next few weeks. We will be resuming rehearsals and meeting back at the bandroom on THURSDAY, JULY 31. Not tonight... The bandroom will be in use for school related things the next few Wednesdays so if you could join us at the THURSDAY, JULY 31 rehearsal, it would be awesome...

Here's the modified rehearsal schedule:

7/31 Thursday 7:30pm

8/7 Thursday 7:30pm

8/14 Thursday 7:30pm

8/20 WEDNESDAY 7:30pm, back to our usual Wednesday schedule

HBH Member Update 6/23/14

Aroha!

Just a lil reminder... No rehearsal this Wednesday... Or next week... Or the following week... Or the week following the week after that... We'll be resuming rehearsals on July 23...

I'm having a hard time writing this. I have so many thoughts and feelings in my mind I don't know how to put into words. Plus I feel like I haven't written any English paragraphs in a while, just short sentences that I write on FB, so I haven't really been able to send out all the thank you mesgs that I want to... But I'm trying... =P

For those who went up to Japan, thank your for your hard work and for being a fun grp of ppl to be with. HBH is really abt harmony, friendship, music, peace, acceptance and more. The KBB members are really the ones we need to thank. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we were well cared for. They took us to many awesome places and helped us experience all kinds of cool stuff. I had a great time. I hope you all did too. I wish I could've said something in the end to them but I didn't know how to. The amount of stuff I'd like to thank them for overwhelm my mind and all I can come up with when I try to put it into words is, "I'm grateful." So I have yet to write them an official thank you.

To the HBH members who didn't come with us this trip. We didn't forget abt you. I brought you guys something super duper small. But as I'm writing this i just realized at the end of the sentence before this one that it probably won't keep until July 23. Heh. =( But I wanna do another trip. LOL. We'll plan it frm our side next time so it doesn't get so confusing. I got confused because my joint concert trip had to many joint joint joints.

Anyway... NO REHEARSALS UNTIL JULY 23!

And if anything I wrote doesn't make sense at all... You're probably right and I'm pretty certain it doesn't make sense at all. LOL.

Thank you and non-rehearsal reminder

Thank you for helping make our joint concert with KHAMB a fun and interesting one. I heard nothing but good comments. I guess that's good. Or everyone is just being nice. But it was a great experience for everybody.

Anyway... Due to the number of scheduled trips this summer, we have decided to give everyone a break frm rehearsals and restart on July 23 when everyone is back.

I think that's it. If I forgot something, pls don't hesitate to let me know. I won't be offended. I promise. =)

Thank you HBHers and KHAMB ppls! Had an awesome time playing music with both of you guys. =) It was a first time joint concert for us and I think both bands weren't sure of what to expect but everything turned out well. Thank you for being flexible and open to new experiences. LOL. Frm the feedback it seemed everyone I talked to had a great time. New contacts were made, food was good... All went well. Thank you again for your hard work!

Yay! I'm back to sending more strange HBH member update emails again... Sorry, it's been a while...

Anyway, I was just thinking the other day that I should start looking for places to book... Then I found a mesg sent just an hour ago frm Hawaii Kai Retirement Community... See below...

Gina, your still very weird, forgot how to play clarinet but knows how to pick up dog poop quickly during rehearsal but can't pick up dog pee, HBH member update but more like random things even if the purpose of the mesg was to ask abt March 8th email sending HBH president.

Ugh. Why are they playing Polovetsian as the music for the Olympics opening story thingy???
